Description:
Formulated with fine grog for sculptural work - this clay fires to a warm brown color at cone 9. Number 1 Stoneware with Grog may be used on the wheel by those who like a stout, toothy clay. It turns brown when fired in oxidation and deep brown in reduction.
   
Temperature Range: Fires Between Cone 6-9, 2232-2300° F
Shrink Rate: 13-14%
Texture: Coarse
Best Uses: Sculptural work
Color: Brown - Oxidation, Deep brown - Reduction
Qualities: Extra standing strength
Glazes: Use glazes that mature between cone 6 and 9.
