-"The more I learn, I find more that I need to learn!"

Jerri is our exciting new featured artist.  Jerri started working with clay in March 2005 where she took her first art class at the Eagan Art House.  It quickly became an addiction/obsession for her.  "Clay is much more rewarding art medium for me...much more so than when I painted.  It seems to take my interest in new concepts and combine it with my drive to deeply understand one idea.  I can explore the new with an infinite number of clay bodies, building techniques, glazing options, surface decoration, and firing opportunities.  I can explore as far as the long history of clay creation combined with my own imagination allows.  I can work intimately with one idea to improve my skills and make a better quality pot.  I can also become a good friend with my same stoneware, my favorite glazes in my favorite combinations, and my favorite shapes.  The more I learn, I find more that I need to learn!"

We asked Jerri why she likes working with Minnesota Clay?  "My favorite glaze is Copperhead from the HG series of glazes created at Minnesota Clay.  It has warm variations and it reacts beautifully as a top coat glaze!  The staff at Minnesota  Clay has been so helpful with my firings!  I feel like I have the flexibility that I would have with my own kiln!"

Neddermeyer's Thrown and Fired Pottery Studio creates functional art for our everyday lives.  Most of Jerri's pieces are made from our Number 2 Stoneware or Raku clays and they are glazed with some of our HG and HM Series To order these pieces, visit thrownandfired.home.comcast.net or you can either call her at 651-882-6301 or e-mail at thrownandfired@comcast.net.  Jerri's stoneware pieces are microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe (fired at Cone 5 or 6).
